Job summary

Hazleton Area School District - Heights Terrace Elementary/Middle School is seeking a General Cafeteria Worker for a part-time role. Immediate start. You will assist in food preparation, service, and cleanup while following HACCP procedures and safety guidelines to ensure daily meals meet quality standards.

The position requires basic knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prior food service experience and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• Preferred 5 years of Food Service Experience.
• High ethical standards and integrity are required.
• Knowledge of HACCP, USDA and PDE Regulations and Guidelines.
• Skill in planning and organization.
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet navigation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, parents, community, students and others.
• Strong oral and written communications and human relations skills.
• Current Act 24 (82), Act 34, Act 114, Act 151 clearances and pre-employment health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to dress code, keeps neat and clean.
• Attend relevant meetings or training sessions.
• Report hazardous conditions or equipment to the cafeteria manager.
• Establish favorable relationships toward coworkers, students and faculty to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Know the served menu, use proper utensils, and follow recipes to meet portion requirements.
• Participate in food preparation and service following production method.
• Follow procedures for service, storage and cleanup of meals.
• Ensure quantities of hot and cold food are prepared and ready on time.
• Assist in ordering and maintaining supplies.
• Maintain HACCP and sanitation procedures and keep work areas clean.
