Job summary

Hazleton Area School District in Freeland, PA is seeking a part-time General Cafeteria Worker to support daily food service operations in the Freeland Elementary/Middle School. You will follow recipes, assist with serving meals, and help maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

The role requires adherence to HACCP, safety guidelines, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Applicants should have flexibility with shifts and demonstrate reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Preferred 5 years of Food Service Experience.
• Knowledge of HACCP, USDA and PDE Regulations.
• Ability to plan and organize.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet navigation.
• Ability to collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, community, students and others.
• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Ability to handle conflict.
• Clearances: Act 24, 34, 114, 151; pre-employment drug test and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to dress code; keep neat and clean.
• Attends relevant meetings or training sessions.
• Report hazards to the cafeteria manager.
• Establish favorable relationships with coworkers, students and faculty for total customer satisfaction.
• Know the menu; use proper utensils and follow recipes to meet portions.
• Assist in preparation and service of food per production methods.
• Follow HACCP and sanitation procedures for safety and cleanliness.
• Maintain clean work areas and floors.
• Assist with food ordering and production records.
• Train on POS system and assist with outstanding balances.
• Perform other duties as directed by the cafeteria manager and food service director.
• Support safety and sanitation inspections.
