Job summary

You will train personnel in safety, sanitation, cash handling, and policies; develop menus, respond to feedback, and handle emergencies with a focus on quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 year previous institutional food service operations experience.
• ServeSafe certification.
• Become Nationally Certificated with SNA within one year of hire and maintain certification.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education and experience that meets minimum requirements

Responsibilities

• Selects, coaches and counsels all food service staff; manages daily kitchen production and cafeteria service operations.
• Produces and maintains work and serving schedules.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness in the kitchen; complies with rules and district policies.
• Trains staff in safety, sanitation, cash handling, and policies.
• Maintains food service records per federal guidelines.
• Prepares relevant reports as required.
• Ensures food quality with safe handling practices.
• Plans menu components meeting taste and nutrition for students and staff.
• Participates in departmental goals and new ideas for menu items and presentations.
• Resolves issues related to food service operations; responds to complaints.
• Responds to emergencies per guidelines.
• Orders food and supplies and manages storage and disposal.
• Communicates with site admins, students, staff and public about operations.
• Performs related duties as assigned
