Qualifications

• Basic arithmetic ability for handling supplies and inventories.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with other food service staff to ensure timely meal preparation and delivery.
• Reviews daily production records and secures necessary ingredients and equipment.
• Cleans and prepares fruits and vegetables; makes simple items like toast, rice, cereals; assembles salads, sandwiches, and baked goods; assists with special dietary needs.
• Portions and packs menu items for satellite feeding.
• Sets up serving counters and serves students and staff; replenishes items as needed.
• Washes pots, pans, plates, and utensils; cleans towels, aprons, and caps.
• Maintains clean work areas, counters, dining areas, and washrooms; sanitizes equipment and floors.
• Labels, stores, and disposes leftovers properly.
• Receives provisions, records temperatures when applicable, reports discrepancies; inventories and records supplies used.
• Oversees student helper(s) in the school kitchen.
• Attends staff meetings and training; completes required USDA training hours.
