Job summary

Dayton Public Schools is seeking a Food Service Manager to supervise the preparation, cooking and serving of meals for students, staff, and visitors in a safe, appetizing, and compliant manner. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of commercial food service experience; certification requirements include Level II Sanitation, CPR, and ServeSafe within six months.

You will manage inventory, complete reports, train staff, and ensure adherence to federal guidelines

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and 3 years of commercial food service experience.
• Must obtain Level II Sanitation Certification, CPR, and ServeSafe within 6 months.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift at least 40 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparation, cooking and service of food to students, staff and visitors per standards and guidelines.
• Completes and submits register and cash reports, and HAACP and temperature logs.
• Trains staff in kitchen, storeroom and service procedures.
• Estimates ingredients, conducts monthly inventory, and tracks attendance records.
