Job summary

Work closely with the Chef Manager to ensure meals are prepared safely and served efficiently in a calm school environment. The position offers predictable daytime hours, paid training, and opportunities to contribute to a positive school community.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English (minimum requirement).
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and make correct change.
• Dependable, punctual, able to meet deadlines.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace.
• Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Follow all food safety requirements and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prep food items such as fruits, vegetables, salads, and simple batch ingredients.
• Assist with serving during lunch when needed.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including wiping surfaces, sweeping, and organizing stations.
• Support dishwashing on days when primary dishwasher is off.
• Restock supplies such as utensils, trays, condiments, and paper goods.
• Help with end-of-day cleanup to prepare the kitchen for the next day.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to students and staff.
