Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals and the setup of the cafeteria.
• Check with Kitchen Manager for daily preparation work assignments.
• Assist in the preparation of daily menus.
• Assist in the setup of napkins, serving utensils, student lunch trays and condiments.
• Set up daily snacks on the cafeteria line.
• Assist in checking food shipments into the school, signing invoices after verification.
• Assist in determining amounts of food to be prepared daily.
• Serve students nutritious meals in a friendly manner.
• Rotate work in kitchen and on the register as directed by Food Service Directors.
• Serve food using portions as directed by production sheet.
• Promote a friendly atmosphere through customer service.
• Maintain cleanliness of the cafeteria and serving line.
• Replenish serving lines and store leftovers properly.
• Communicate with parents about student accounts when needed.
• Count and verify daily deposits; wrap money for bank deposits.
• Assist with inventorying and ordering; complete daily order forms.
• Complete daily production sheet and other duties as assigned.
