Job summary

Regis Corporation is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve nutritious meals in a NJ school cafeteria. The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy in daily paperwork, and customer-friendly service.

The position involves assisting with meal prep, menu setup, napkin and utensil placement, cashier tasks on the point of sale, inventory checks, and daily deposits. It requires standing for extended periods and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• Pass state-required background check and fingerprinting to work in NJ schools.
• Previous experience in food service is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of meals and cafeteria setup.
• Checks with Kitchen Manager for daily preparation work.
• Assists in the preparation of daily menus.
• Sets up napkins, serving utensils, student lunch trays and condiments.
• Sets up daily snacks on the cafeteria line.
• Checks food shipments into the school and signs invoices after verification.
• Determines daily food quantities and serves nutritious, attractive meals.
• Works in rotation with Food Service Director/Assistant in kitchen and on the register.
• Operates serving lines with proper portion sizes and maintains a friendly atmosphere.
• Performs general housekeeping to keep cafeteria clean and organized.
• Replenishes serving lines and maintains cleanliness between lunch periods.
• Completes records and admin tasks including POS entries and deposits.
• Communicates with parents about student accounts when needed.
• Counts and verifies daily deposits and backups computer data.
• Maintains inventory and processes orders with Kitchen Manager.
• Completes daily production sheet and other duties as assigned.
