Job summary

Cedar Rapids Community School District is hiring a part-time Cashier at Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, IA. You will handle cash for meals, verify transactions, and support the Kitchen/Nutrition team during breakfast and lunch.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED (preferred) and basic computer skills. You will work 9:30am–1:30pm, four hours daily, with summers off and a school-based schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with others to encourage and support a team atmosphere.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Knowledge of 10-key calculator is beneficial.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate the computerized cashiering system during breakfast and lunch.
• Collect money and maintain customer accounts on the computer.
• Prepare a bank deposit and send daily worksheet to Food and Nutrition office.
• Work flexible hours and attend trainings as assigned.
• Perform general food service duties and related cleanup as directed by the cafeteria manager.
• Assist with washing and drying pots, pans, trays and silverware.
