Job summary

The Cedar Rapids Community School District is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker to support breakfast and lunch operations. The position runs nine months with a daily 4-hour shift (9:30am–1:30pm) and offers the district’s standard benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of school food service program, nutritional standards, and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform general work connected with the operation of food service, including food preparation and handling.
• Assist with cooking as necessary.
• Wash and dry pots, pans, trays, and silverware; serve quality food.
• Be available to work flexible hours.
• Serve as POS for breakfast and lunch; verify reimbursable meals.
• Process daily tally counts for claim reimbursement.
• Assist with general clean up duties.
• Maintain open communication with all people served by the Food & Nutrition Department.
• Attend work as scheduled and arrive prepared; follow procedures for lateness or absences.
• Regular attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
