Job summary

Seaford School District is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant to support the West Seaford Elementary School cafeteria. This part-time role involves assisting in food preparation, serving meals to students, stocking the serving line, and maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen and dining area.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic reading/writing/arithmetic skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Must be able to read and write and do simple arithmetic.
• Complete School Food Service Training Program Units I–IV within three years; ServeSafe recommended.
• Neat appearance and adherence to dress code.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparation of food under manager/cook supervision.
• Delivers and distributes breakfast to students and restocks serving line.
• Keeps serving areas clean and maintains sanitation in dishwashing and prep areas.
• Prepares cash register, handles meals transactions, and records meals served.
• Maintains safe food handling and complies with health standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Nutrition Services Manager and Supervisor.
