The Seaford School District is seeking a Nutrition Services Assistant for a part-time role of 3 hours per day. Duties include food preparation, serving meals, maintaining sanitation, cashiering, and assisting with routine kitchen tasks in a school cafeteria environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, English proficiency, basic math skills, and a positive attitude toward working with children and a team. Delaware background checks and adherence to dress code are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• For Part-time employees: completion of Child Nutrition Training Classes 1-4 within 3 years.
• For Full-time employees: completion of Classes 1-6 within 4 years.
• Ability to read, write, and to speak English and to understand and follow directions in English.
• Demonstrated ability to do simple mathematics.
• Desire and aptitude for working with children.
• Desire and aptitude for working as a team.
• Neat and clean personal appearance. Adherence to dress code.
• Excellent work history, including demonstrated excellent attendance.
• State of Delaware criminal reference check.

Responsabilités

• Preparation of food items under the direction of the manager or cook.
• Follows standardized recipes.
• Supplies and restocks the serving line with food and supplies.
• Practices excellent customer service in the service of meals to students and adults.
• Keeps line moving smoothly and serving areas clean and sanitized.
• Practices portion control.
• Prepares dishwasher and checks dishmachine temperatures and reports problems.
• May work at the receiving window or dishwashing area.
• Operates equipment safely and maintains records as needed.
• Attends training programs/workshops for continuing education purposes.
