Job summary

The New Braunfels Chamber seeks a Transportation Training Supervisor to oversee the selection and training of qualified School Bus Drivers according to NBISD guidelines and legal requirements. You will provide ongoing training, evaluate performance, and assist in administering the safety program, including TEA/state reports.

Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills are essential, as well as knowledge of TEA rules, roads, and routing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and clean driving record.
• Texas CDL (A/B) with S endorsements required.
• School Bus Driver Safety Training Certificate required.
• Complete TEEX cert for instructors within 6 months.
• Complete TASB Vehicle Collision Investigation within 1 year.
• Complete Supervisor Training CFR 49 Part 40 within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assist drivers with student management concerns.
• Access bus video surveillance for safety and security.
• Monitor and upgrade the State-approved School Bus Driving training course and suggest improvements.
• Recruit and train individuals to become School Bus Drivers.
• Develop and perform Driver Field in-service training per NBISD/Tx DPS standards.
• Refresh driving skills of NBISD-operated vehicles.
• Perform Driver Proficiency Evaluations (road) at least once per school year.
