Job summary

New Braunfels Chamber seeks a Training Instructor to train qualified School Bus Drivers under Comal ISD guidelines, providing classrooms and behind‑the‑wheel sessions. You will document progress and ensure compliance with state policies.

Responsibilities include coaching drivers on policies, paperwork, student management, route resolution and parent communication, with occasional route coverage and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Class B CDL license with P&S endorsements.
• CPR and CPI Certification (or able to attain).
• Texas School Bus Driver Safety Training Certificate.
• TEEX Training Academy certification within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs Behind the Wheel Training and classroom training for trainees.
• Documents and maintains training records per State/Federal regulations and Comal ISD policies.
• Assists and trains drivers in department policies and procedures.
• Assists and trains drivers with paperwork responsibilities.
• Assists and trains drivers with student management.
• Assists drivers with route problems resolution.
• Maintains records and schedules for driver trainees.
• Communicates with parents, school personnel and the public.
• Covers routes as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
