Job summary

Tooele County School District seeks an experienced school bus driver to transport students and staff to and from school and on field trips. You will inspect buses, maintain safe conditions, and ensure student safety with proper supervision and discipline.

The role requires a valid CDL Class B with School Bus endorsement, knowledge of traffic laws, and ability to manage students. Training and ongoing development are provided; 10-month contract with summer hours possible.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Ability to perform pre-trip inspections and operate the bus safely.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage time and resolve problems effectively.
• Capable of lifting and physical tasks as required.
• Knowledge of wheelchair lift operation and child safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a school bus on designated routes and school days.
• Transports students and staff on trips and field activities.
• Inspects bus daily before operation and performs basic maintenance checks.
• Maintains order and discipline among students per district policy.
• Reports incidents, accidents and mechanical issues promptly.
• Prepares for and participates in bus drills and emergency procedures.
