Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Bus Assistant to support safe transportation of children and effective communication with families and staff. No formal education or experience is required, and the role offers paid training with a pay range of $17.00 to $19.71 per hour.

The position emphasizes safety, supervision, and cooperative work with the Bus Driver to ensure a positive, educational bus ride for children.

Qualifications

• No formal education or experience required for this position.
• Meets Oregon’s Early Learning Divisions requirements for a Teacher Aide II within 6 months.
• Meets Oregon’s Early Learning Divisions requirements for an Infant Toddler or Preschool Teacher within Pay Grade 1.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver to supervise children and ensure safety on the bus.
• Help load/unload children and verify authorized drop-offs.
• Maintain proper seating, buckling, and orderly conduct during transport.
• Support communication with families and staff about children’s needs and center activities.
• Assist with keeping the bus clean and reporting any issues.
