Job summary

Oregon Child Development Coalition (OCDC) is seeking a Bus Assistant to work with the Bus Driver to transport children safely on the school bus. The role includes supervising children, loading/unloading, and ensuring riders are properly secured.

You will maintain the bus, manage belongings, and assist with transportation safety education. No prior education or experience is required; within 6 months you must meet Oregon’s Early Learning Divisions requirements for a Teacher Aide II.

Qualifications

• No prior education or experience is required for this position.
• Must meet Oregon’s Early Learning Divisions requirements for a Teacher Aide II within 6 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver in supervising children and ensuring no child is left unsupervised.
• Help load and unload children safely from the bus and verify entry/exit by authorized persons.
• Ensure all riders are seated and buckled in appropriate restraints.
• Maintain clean bus, organize belongings, and complete required paperwork.
• Foster a pleasant, educational bus ride with activities and safe behavior management.
