Job summary

Putnam County Schools is seeking a School Bus Operator for 200 days of service. The role requires a valid CDL Class B with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements, plus a clean DMV record and drug/alcohol screening.

The operator will transport students on designated routes, complete required training (40 hours classroom, 20 hours behind the wheel), and maintain First Aid/CPR certification. Competitive benefits and a standard salary schedule apply.

Qualifications

• Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.
• Passes the required physical examination.
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver.
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check.
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening.
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator's Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses and other transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.
• Location and length of route(s) may vary, determined by Coordinator of Transportation depending on number/location of students requiring transportation services.
