Job summary

Putnam County Schools in West Virginia seeks a School Bus Operator to operate buses and transportation vehicles in accordance with state guidelines. CDL Class B with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements, three years of licensed driving, and a clean DMV record.

Applicant must pass physicals and drug/alcohol screening, complete 40 classroom hours and 20 behind-the-wheel hours, and hold First Aid/CPR plus WV School Bus Operator's Certificate.

Qualifications

• Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.
• Three years of experience as a licensed driver.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification and a WV School Bus Operator's Certificate.
• Passes required physical examination.
• Passes DMV Driving Record Check.
• Passes Drug/Alcohol Screening.
• Completes 40 hours of classroom training and 20 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

Responsibilities

• Operate school buses and other transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.
• Follow the Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook and district policies.
• Location and length of route may vary, as determined by the Coordinator of Transportation, based on student transportation needs.

Service Salary Schedule . Salary based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package to include: PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, and free vision and dental insurance.

Job Description

The School Bus Operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.

Qualifications

• Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
• Passes the required physical examination
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
• Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
• Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
• Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator's Certificate
