Job summary

Servingschools is seeking a cautious and dependable School Bus Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students, including cocurricular and extracurricular activities.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CHRC, and a Maine CDL with PY endorsement. You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, follow all safety rules, andMaintain discipline on the bus while ensuring timely trips and proper reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Requires CHRC clearance.
• Maine driver license and CDL with PY endorsement.
• Must meet all state physical and other requirements.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Ability to interact well with students, staff and community.

Responsibilities

• Read, reason, and understand policies and procedures.
• Follow verbal, written or demonstrated instructions.
• Perform physical movements required for bus driving.
• Reach, lift, and engage in necessary motions; eye-hand coordination.
• Write basic notes or reports as required.
• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline when students are on the bus.
• Report discipline issues to the building administrator.
• Keep assigned bus clean and inspected before trips.
• Prepare trip itineraries and review directions prior to trips.
• Keep to assigned schedule and complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Notify transportation director of mechanical issues or lateness.
• Discharge students only at authorized stops; exercise responsible leadership.
• Transport only authorized people and report accidents.
• Support district policies on transportation and perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in professional growth activities as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of records and respect others' rights.
