Job summary

Cherry Creek Transportation Employees Association is seeking a Bus Driver to transport students safely along assigned routes and on district-sponsored trips. You will monitor stops and supervise students getting on and off the bus while maintaining timely schedules.

When not driving, you may assist with administrative tasks as directed by the department supervisor. The role requires a Colorado CDL Class B with P and S endorsements, CPR/First Aid certification, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
• No professional work experience required.
• Colorado driver’s license.
• CDL Class B with both a "P" (passenger) and "S" (school bus) endorsement.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must meet insurability requirements of the district.
• Must pass state and federal screenings.
• MVRO in last 3 years with no suspensions/revocations.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus to transport students over assigned routes safely and efficiently.
• After completing the route, perform administrative tasks in the office as needed.
• Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
• Reports delays or accidents.
• Performs pre/post-trip inspections to ensure safe operations.
• Loads and unloads students at various stops and destinations.
• Performs student discipline activities as necessary.
• Communicates information and procedures to students and staff during emergencies.
• Waits at assigned locations between routes and activities.
• Performs evacuation drills as required and participates in training.
