Job summary

Newport Mesa Unified School District is seeking bus drivers to transport students safely on assigned routes. Positions require a minimum of 25 hours per week, on a split shift, Monday–Friday, for 10 months per year. Open recruitment also covers substitute/temporary assignments.

Under the direction of the Transportation Director, duties include operating and maintaining school buses, conducting safety inspections, and completing required records and reports related to operations.

Qualifications

• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and sufficient training and experience to demonstrate the knowledge and abilities listed above.
• Six (6) months of experience as a school bus driver is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain school buses to transport students safely and efficiently to an assigned location using a designated route.
• Perform regular safety inspections; prepare a variety of records and reports related to assigned activities.
