Newport-Mesa Unified School District is seeking regular school bus drivers to transport students on a daily route. Positions require a valid California CDL with passenger endorsement, S, and air brake endorsements, plus related First Aid certifications as applicable. The role includes safety inspections and routine records.

Training and benefits vary by union and district policy. Shifts are split and run Monday through Friday with a minimum of 25 hours per week over 10 months per year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of school bus driver experience preferred.
• Valid California DMV license with passenger endorsement, S, and air brake endorsements required.
• California Special Driver Certificate for school buses and First Aid certificate as applicable.

Responsabilités

• Drive a school bus along a designated route; pick up and discharge students on schedule.
• Observe safety and traffic laws; ensure student safety and discipline on board.
• Perform daily safety inspections and report mechanical issues.
• Maintain clean buses and logs; refuel when needed.
• Assist handicapped students with boarding and seating; use wheelchair lifts.
