Job summary

Summit School Services in Concord, CA is seeking a skilled dispatch supervisor to direct daily driver assignments, coordinate routing, and ensure on-time service delivery for a broad network of routes and field trips. A high school diploma or GED is required, with prior dispatch experience preferred; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of surrounding geographic area to ensure effective routing.
• Strong communication with colleagues and customers in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions from customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Directs and monitors daily assignments; schedules drivers and bus assistants and assigns vehicles to ensure daily coverage of routes, field trips, and charter work.
• Ensures on-time completion of daily driver and bus assistant activities.
• Communicates route details to drivers to ensure proper execution.
• Assists drivers with routing directions and directs special services when required.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates replacement buses and drivers as needed.
• Notifies relevant personnel of route changes and incidents that might disrupt service.
• Maintains route documentation and records for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinates vehicle service and repairs with maintenance to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Handles customer concerns professionally and escalates unresolved issues.
• Exhibits ethical conduct and integrity; reports suspicious or inappropriate behavior.
