Summit School Services seeks a qualified Dispatch Coordinator to manage daily driver assignments, routing, and communications to ensure reliable school transportation services.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous dispatch experience preferred.
• Knowledge of surrounding geographic area to ensure effective routing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents from customers and team members.
• Ability to operate two-way and emergency radio systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and routing software.

Responsibilities

• Directs and monitors daily assignments; schedules drivers, bus assistants, and assigns vehicles to ensure daily coverage of all routes, field trips, and charter work.
• Ensures on-time execution of driving assignments and related activities.
• Communicates driving details to drivers for proper execution.
• Assists drivers with routing and special services as needed.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates replacement buses and drivers when required.
• Notifies district/building personnel of changes in routes or incidents disrupting service.
• Maintains route documentation for accurate information and compliance.
• Coordinates vehicle service and repairs to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
• Maintains dispatch SOPs and handles customer inquiries professionally.
• Escalates unresolved issues to management when appropriate.
