Job summary

LifeWise Academy is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to transport students and volunteers to and from the LifeWise site. The role requires a clean driving record, a valid CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement, and adherence to safety rules.

The position includes required background checks, drug testing, and annual medical documentation. Candidates should be mature, punctual, and able to create a calm, supportive environment for children.

Qualifications

• Must hold CDL with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P).
• School bus endorsement preferred.
• Age 21–80; driver above 75 must submit CDL license copy annually.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in last 5 years.
• Background check required by LifeWise Academy.
• Drug and/or alcohol testing required (pre-employment, annual tests, post-incident).
• Medical condition compliance with annual physician's statement as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children; enforce safety rules.
• Assist students entering or exiting the vehicle as needed.
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor; monitor student behavior.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if agreed with the director.
