Qualifications

• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to assist disabled students and handle wheelchairs and medical equipment.
• Ability to perform tasks involving moderate physical effort, including bending, kneeling, and lifting.
• Criminal history background check and drug screening clearance.
• 5–11 months of experience or training with disabled individuals and completion of district bus-attendant training when provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist students following the bus operator's directions.
• Load/unload students with bus operator and parents.
• Secure students and restraints, check wheelchair securement.
• Maintain discipline and safety on the bus; operate a two-way radio.
• Attend in-service trainings and follow regulations and procedures.
