Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; supplemented by five to eleven months previous experience and/or training involving driving a passenger vehicle.
• Hold a valid Florida Commercial Driver's License, Class B (or higher), with school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Successful completion of approved training course for school bus operators.
• Satisfactory clearance of a criminal history records check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Obeys all traffic laws during operation.
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintains student discipline and reports student misconduct to principal or supervisor.
• Transports only authorized persons as identified by procedure.
• Completes and submits required reports to the Transportation Office.
• Performs pre-trip inspection of bus and interior inspection after each run.
