Job summary

Wright City Middle School in Wright City, Missouri, is seeking a Building Para to support daily school operations and student needs. The role reports to the Building Principal and HR.

It is a nine-month nonexempt position offering hourly compensation and opportunities to assist in classrooms, library, and office tasks. The Building Para will perform clerical duties, help with student supervision, and communicate effectively with staff and the school community while maintaining confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Performs all assignments and duties given by the building principal throughout the year.
• Assists teachers with students when assigned by the building principal.
• Performs basic clerical duties, such as assisting the public, answer the office phone, make copies, take messages, and/or copy and maintain various forms as needed.
• Manages student behavior in a constructive manner using the behavior protocols used by the building.
• Enforces school policies with the students.
• Provides extra assistance to students with special needs.
• Assists in supervision duties as assigned by the principal.
• Assists the librarian as assigned by the principal.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff and the school community.
• Can produce accurate work with frequent interruptions and perform several tasks simultaneously.
• Maintains confidentiality, and unquestionable integrity.
• Complete other duties assigned by the supervisor.
