Job summary

Spring Independent School District is looking for a Building Mechanic to maintain its school facilities and ensure operating excellence. You will perform preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and assist technicians across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting tasks at assigned campuses.

The role requires a Texas driver’s license, safety awareness, and the ability to work varied shifts. Immediate start date; full-time position based in Spring, TX with a pay grade Aux 5.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver's license.
• Five+ years experience in related field.
• Basic skills and knowledge to perform preventative maintenance and minor repair of physical facility MEP auxiliary systems.
• Knowledge of the potential hazards and necessary safety precautions involved in the use of equipment used by the job.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs of auxiliary mechanical systems.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance checks on building systems and equipment.
• Repair minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and paint items and assist technicians.
• Check A/C filters bi-monthly and log changes.
• Monitor control panels and building systems.
• Paint facility as needed.
• Check roof drains and gutters weekly.
• Respond to emergency calls; may work nights or varying shifts.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Assist with parking lot repair and moving furniture as needed.
