Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Mechanic to maintain, repair, and optimize ventilation, HVAC, and environmental control systems across district facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma, relevant HVAC training, EPA Universal license or willingness to obtain, a Texas Class C driver's license, and the ability to work with district staff. This on-site role may involve after-hours calls as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years of college preferred HVAC courses.
• Valid Texas Class C driver's license.
• EPA Universal license or willingness to secure within 12 months.
• Preferred Stationary Building Engineer license or equivalent within 12 months.
• HVAC/electrical maintenance licenses with City of Houston or state are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC controls to ensure proper indoor air quality.
• Maintain and service ventilation, HVAC and environmental control equipment.
• Repair or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses and wiring.
• Perform energy management surveys for cost-effective HVAC use.
• Receive, estimate materials, and generate time and labor records.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate with principals and supervisors on projects.
