Job summary

Brayton Elementary School in North Adams, MA seeks a Behavior Technician for the Castles 3 program to support students with behavioral needs and implement structured behavioral strategies.

Reporting to the Building Principal and Director of Student Support Services, this school-year role is 7 hours daily, 5 days a week. Requires an Associates degree or ParaPro, plus experience with disabilities and willingness to train.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or passing score on ParaPro exam.
• Experience working with students with moderate to severe social emotional and behavioral disabilities.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• Willing to undergo additional specialized training.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to provide a highly structured approach to behavioral management.
• Work with students to reduce behaviors such as aggression, self-injury, property destruction, disruption.
• Use strategies provided by the BCBA (e.g., discrete trial training) to instruct students per IEPs.
• Provide mentoring and direct support to students during unstructured times (lunch, recess).
• Collect data on behavioral interventions and monitor progress.
