Job summary

Nashua School District's Franklin Street Preschool is hiring a Behavior Technician for the 2026-2027 school year. The role supports students with behavioral and developmental needs, under supervision of a BCBA/Special Ed team.

The technician implements BIPs, provides one-on-one or small group support, collects data, and helps teach social, communication, and daily living skills in classroom and nonclassroom settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of 40-hour ABA modules within 90 days of hire.
• Prior training in non-violent crisis intervention preferred.
• Experience with students with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral challenges required.
• Knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and methods.
• Strong communication with students, teachers, and staff.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in challenging situations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to assist with physical activities up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) under supervision.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support during activities.
• Use evidence-based strategies to teach social, communication, and daily living skills.
• Collect and record data on student behavior and progress.
• Work with teachers and staff to integrate behavior strategies in class.
• Support independence with various skills through fading supports.
• Monitor behavior and apply BCBA/teacher procedures.
• Participate in meetings with other professionals for coordinated care.
• Provide behavior support in structured and unstructured environments.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow school policies.
