Job summary

Spring River Mental Health & Wellness, Inc. in Cherokee County, KS with offices in Riverton and Columbus seeks a licensed school-based therapist to serve children, adolescents and families across school, home, clinic and community settings.

This year‑round position participates in HRSA loan repayment programs for eligible candidates. You will assess, diagnose and treat mental health disorders, administer tools, develop treatment plans, document in the electronic health record, and work with

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy and license eligible by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• Prior experience with children and families preferred.
• Pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
• School-based therapist should have skills in assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and psychotherapeutic treatment of children, adolescents and adults with mental disorders, trauma-informed care, screening and referral of substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
• Administer and interpret screening tools and tests as licensed.
• Develop, monitor and evaluate treatment plan goals.
• Complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
• Provide services in outpatient clinic, schools and collaborate with school officials.
• Identify and assist clients accessing community resources for treatment goals.
• Serve in the afterhours Mobile Crisis Response rotation 4–5 times per year.
