Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Independence, MO, is seeking a School Based Therapist to join our School Based Services. This full-time role operates Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm CST, with options for telehealth sessions and coordinated care within educational settings.

Applicants must hold MO licensure or be willing to become licensed in additional states; LCSW, LPC, or LMFT credentials are preferred. A strong focus on collaboration, client confidentiality, and growth drives our therapeutic

Qualifications

• Holds licensure with the applicable board for the state providing services.
• Willing to become licensed in additional states and provide telehealth services.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic interviews and assessments; establish treatment goals.
• Devise individualized treatment plans using evidence-based approaches.
• Apply therapeutic modalities and adjust strategies as needed throughout counseling.
• Monitor progress and modify interventions based on client response.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
• Maintain compliant documentation of assessments, sessions, and plans.
• Establish and sustain referral networks for specialized services.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and public education on mental health.
