Job summary

Advocate Health is expanding School Based Services into Georgia and seeks a motivated School Based Counselor to provide virtual therapy for students in grades 5-12 during the school day.

You will collaborate with school staff, perform assessments, and develop treatment plans while delivering individual and family therapy in a school setting. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team and emphasizes evidence-based approaches and timely documentation.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant human services field from an accredited program.
• Must have associate licensure and/or certification in the state within 6 months.
• CPR and CPI training within 90 days.
• Clinical experience preferred.
• Experience with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness or substance abuse preferred.
• Strong therapeutic communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and family therapy sessions within the school setting.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and treatment planning.
• Collaborate with school staff, administrators, and community partners to ensure quality care and timely documentation.
• Provide behavioral health services to emotionally disturbed and mentally ill students.
• Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assess, treat, plan, and provide psycho-education and various therapies.
