Job summary

Communities In Schools of Chicago is seeking Student Supports Managers (SSMs) to work on-site in CPS or charter schools, managing a caseload of about 50 students facing barriers to learning. You will provide one-on-one and small-group support, track progress, and coordinate with community resources to keep students engaged and on track to graduate.

The role emphasizes collaboration with school teams, data-collection in our systems, and active participation in family engagement and school events.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling is required or preferred.
LSW/LPC or license-eligibility is a plus.
2+ years working directly with youth and families, preferably in urban public schools.
Strong cultural humility and ability to work across diverse communities.

Responsibilities

Serve as go-to support for a caseload of ~50 students; provide one-on-one and small-group support; track progress; adjust interventions.
Design and deliver school-wide prevention, wellness, and engagement initiatives.
Join or co-lead school-based teams like Behavioral Health Team.
Connect students and families with trusted community resources through a citywide partner network.
Maintain timely, accurate case notes and student data in CIS systems.
Collaborate with CIS team members and school leaders to build a culture of support.
Represent CIS in school meetings, family engagement efforts, and community events.
Work on-site every day at a CPS school or public charter school.
