Qualifications

• AA degree from an accredited program.
• Completion of an approved Speech and Language Pathology Assistant program.
• Registration as a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant with the State of California.
• 1 year of working with students with special needs in an educational setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech-language screenings using various tools.
• Follow documented therapy plans.
• Document student progress.
• Prepare therapy materials for pullout or classroom use.
• Adapt or modify instructional materials for teacher use.
• Consult with general education teachers to co-plan materials.
• Track progress data and report IEP progress.
• Communicate progress to parents, teachers and speech-language pathologist.
• Participate in IEP process and attend meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with IEP and school site teams.
