Job summary

Citizens of the World Los Angeles is seeking a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students with speech and language needs. Under a SLP, you will help develop oral communication skills and monitor augmentative devices to aid access to the educational program.

You will work toward IEP goals in collaboration with teachers and the SLP, perform screenings, maintain records, and participate in assessments and meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Valid CA SLPA license issued by the California Speech-Language and Hearing Audiology Board.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of IEP present levels and goal-writing.
  • Knowledge of formal assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language development services in group and individual settings aligning with IEP goals.
  • Conduct screenings using prescribed techniques and devices.
  • Follow and implement treatment plans.
  • Document progress toward goals and objectives.
  • Support with formal assessments as needed.
  • Assist with IEP meetings and writing present levels/new goals.
