Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist to provide direct therapy to students with speech, voice, or language disorders and to assess and develop IEPs in Fresno County. The role requires collaboration with teachers and ongoing progress evaluation to support students in accessing their educational program.

The position emphasizes professional collaboration with families and school staff, compliance with district policies, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Active state-level licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
• Current Driver’s License
• Current CPR/BLS Card
• Current Negative TB Result
• Must pass a background check and drug test
• Fingerprinting required

Responsibilities

• Assess students with speech or language disorders and determine eligibility for services.
• Develop annual IEPs and complete 3-year re-evaluations.
• Develop daily speech services schedule.
• Plan and provide individual and group therapy to students per IEP goals.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to improve oral and written language skills.
• Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services.
• Assist in selection of materials, equipment and supplies for diagnostics and therapy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with parents, teachers and principals.
• Complete all required district paperwork.
• Develop professional skills related to the assignment.
• Comply with federal/state laws and district policies.
• Demonstrate professional, ethical and responsible behavior.
• Advocate for all children and youth.
• Other duties as assigned
