Job summary

The Children’s Academy is a nonprofit K–12 special education program serving students with speech, language, and learning differences. We are seeking collaborative, enthusiastic, and flexible Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to join our educational team.

The RBT works closely with classroom teachers, consulting BCBAs, and related service providers to support students academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally throughout the school day. CPI/Safety-Care training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required at time of hire.
• Experience with children with special needs, speech and language delays, or learning disabilities is preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to remain patient, flexible, and responsive in a dynamic school environment.
• Demonstrated professionalism and openness to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behavioral and instructional support to students in classroom and therapeutic settings
• Work collaboratively with consulting BCBAs to implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and individualized support strategies
• Support students during academic instruction, transitions, and daily routines
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to reinforce academic, communication, behavioral, and social goals
• Utilize effective de-escalation strategies and behavior support techniques to assist dysregulated students safely and appropriately
• Collect and document behavioral and instructional data accurately
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support student progress
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and positive learning environment
• Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development
