Job summary

Cross Country Education seeks a Physical Therapist (PT) in La Plata, MD to provide individualized therapy and collaborate with school teams and families to support students’ mobility, independence, and success.

The role involves conducting assessments, developing IEP/IFSP-based goals, and coordinating with educators and healthcare partners to enable student participation and access to learning. MD license and DPT are required; experience in school settings is preferred.

Qualifications

• DPT required.
• Maryland Physical Therapist license required.
• Experience with school-based evaluations and IEP/IFSP development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct formal and informal assessments for Pre-K–12 students focusing on gross motor development, functional mobility, adaptive skills, and activities of daily living.
• Create and implement therapy goals and services through IEP/IFSP processes, including recommendations for frequency, intensity, accommodations, and equipment.
• Partner with educators, families, related-service providers, medical professionals, and community partners to support students’ participation and mobility.
• Complete therapy documentation, evaluations, progress reports, and Medicaid billing while meeting regulatory timelines.
