Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services in Maryland is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist to support students’ mobility and independence within the school setting. You will assess, plan, and implement therapy programs aligned with IEP goals, collaborating with teachers, families, and school staff.

This role requires a state license, a PT degree, experience with children, strong communication, and the ability to adapt activities for the classroom.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid Maryland PT license.
• Experience working with children in school or pediatric settings.
• Strong clinical skills in pediatric PT assessment, intervention, and documentation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with school personnel and families.
• Ability to work independently with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments to identify motor deficits.
• Develop and implement IEP-based therapy plans.
• Provide direct and consultative PT services to improve strength, mobility, coordination.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate goals into education plans.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and sessions.
• Participate in IEP meetings to provide input and recommendations.
• Educate school staff and families on strategies to support mobility.
• Monitor and adjust therapy plans based on progress and needs.
• Stay current with pediatric PT best practices and research.
