Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist to join Montgomery County Public Schools in Rockville, MD. The role involves assessments, planning, and implementing therapy programs to support students’ motor development and functional goals within the school setting.

Expect 7 hours per day (35 hours/week) with a 181-day calendar year (some roles may follow a 12-month calendar).

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Valid license to practice physical therapy in Maryland (if applicable).
• Educator Certificate (if applicable).
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
• Strong clinical skills in pediatric PT assessment, intervention, and documentation.

Aufgaben

• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments to identify motor skill deficits and challenges.
• Develop IEPs based on assessment findings.
• Provide direct and consultative PT services to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and overall function.
• Implement evidence-based techniques and exercises tailored to each student.
• Collaborate with teachers and families to integrate PT goals into educational plans.
• Attend IEP meetings to provide input and recommendations.
• Maintain records of assessments, plans, progress notes, and sessions.
• Prepare quarterly student progress reports.
• Educate school staff and parents on strategies to support PT goals.
• Adapt therapy activities for the school environment.
• Monitor and adjust interventions based on progress.
• Advocate for students' needs and accommodations in school.
• Stay current with best practices in pediatric PT and pursue professional development.
