Job summary

Bardstown Independent School District is seeking a School-Based Physical Therapist to provide therapy services to students with motor and mobility needs within the educational setting.

You will collaborate with teachers, families, and related services to develop and implement individualized goals, monitor progress, and support students’ safety, participation, and access to learning across classrooms and school environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Kentucky license to practice physical therapy or eligibility for Kentucky licensure.
• Experience with pediatric physical therapy preferred.
• Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, IEP processes in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with school personnel, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct PT evaluations and assessments to determine educationally relevant needs.
• Develop and implement PT services aligned with IEP goals.
• Provide direct and/or consultative PT services in school settings.
• Monitor progress and prepare progress reports per IEP requirements.
• Participate in ARC/IEP meetings and related student-focused meetings.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to support student needs.
• Provide training on positioning, mobility, and adaptive equipment for safe access to education.
• Maintain accurate documentation and Medicaid billing where applicable.
• Maintain licensure and professional standards.
