Job summary

Thrive Therapies is seeking a school-based physical therapist to deliver comprehensive PT services to K–12 students, evaluating gross motor function, recommending adaptive equipment, and writing IEP goals. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary school teams and participate in ongoing assessment within the educational model.

Qualifications

  • DPT or MPT from an accredited program.
  • NPTE board exam passage; active state PT license in good standing, or initiation of licensure transfer prior to start date.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEP process, and the educational model of PT

Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations to determine educational need and IDEA eligibility, including gross motor skills and functional mobility.
  • Write evaluation reports that are educationally framed and accessible to IEP teams and families.
  • Develop individualized PT IEP goals targeting functional mobility and participation in school activities.
  • Deliver direct therapy using PT approaches such as gait training and strengthening.
  • Evaluate adaptive equipment needs and train students, staff, and families in proper use.
  • Provide consultative services to teachers on accessibility accommodations and safe transfer techniques.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and progress notes.
