Job summary

Gersh Autism invites an experienced Occupational Therapist to join Academy for Young Minds in Long Island City, NY. The OT will collaborate with other disciplines and independently review outcomes to modify intervention programs while ensuring student safety and liability protection.

The ideal candidate has NBCOT-certification, NY OTR/L licensure, and at least one year of pediatric school experience. Strong communication skills are essential for family and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited occupational therapy program recognized by NBCOT.
• Must possess New York State OTR/L Licensure.
• One year of experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in school or pediatric setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other disciplines to plan and deliver services.
• Evaluates student needs and develops occupational profiles.
• Produces comprehensive written evaluations and guides intervention.
• Develops and implements IEP-aligned intervention plans and goals.
• Conducts 45 x 30-minute sessions per week and attends multidisciplinary meetings.
• Maintains confidentiality and accurate documentation.
