Job summary

Gersh Autism in Long Island City, NY is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team. You will evaluate students, develop IEP-driven interventions, and collaborate with teachers and families to support daily participation in school activities.

The role requires NY OTR/L licensure, NBCOT certification, and at least one year of pediatric OT experience. A 45+ caseload and school-based schedule are typical, with responsibilities to monitor progress and ensure program adherence.

Qualifications

• Must have completed accredited OT program recognized by NBCOT and completed fieldwork.
• Must possess New York State OTR/L Licensure.
• One year of pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred in school or clinical setting.
• Must have sensory knowledge and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with disciplines to evaluate student occupational performance and plan services.
• Evaluate student abilities using functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments.
• Synthesize evaluations into written reports informing program development and intervention.
• Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on evaluations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to craft IEP goals and transition plans.
• Teach and support educational staff, families, and community providers.
