Job summary

Gersh Autism Academy in Brooklyn, NY seeks an Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services to K-12 students. The role collaborates with teachers, therapists, and families to implement IEP goals and ensure safe, effective participation in classroom activities.

Responsibilities include evaluations, developing intervention plans, writing reports, and guiding educational programs. Requirements: NY state OTR/L licensure, NBCOT recognition, and at least one year of pediatric school

Qualifications

• Completed NBCOT-recognized OT program and fieldwork.
• Licensed OTR/L in the hiring state.
• Minimum one year of pediatric school experience.
• Strong sensory processing knowledge.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with children with disabilities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with disciplines to plan and deliver OT services.
• Performs assessments to develop student profiles.
• Produces written evaluation reports and guides intervention.
• Creates and implements OT intervention plans to meet IEP goals.
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings and IEP development.
• Maintains records and treatment area, schedules.
