UHP Hawaii Keiki Dental Hygienist role involves implementing education and providing prevention services for oral disease, including the sealant program, under supervision of the Program Manager and Dentist to screen, seal, and provide preventive care to keiki in the school complex area.

The position emphasizes collaboration with the Core Dental Sealant team and mentoring dental hygiene students during rotations, while upholding ADA standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in dental hygiene required.
• Current unrestricted Hawaii dental hygiene license.
• 1 year of community-based or school dental hygiene experience.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct oral health assessments.
• Implement Hawaii Keiki Sealant program for children at selected Hawaii Department of Education elementary schools.
• Provide preventive services including fluoride varnish and dental sealants to children in schools with a portable dental setup.
• Provide oral health education to students and staff.
• Serve as an oral health resource to Hawaii Keiki nurses.
• Mentor Dental Hygiene students during clinical rotations.
